ABOUT ENVY COMFORT

Born from experience. Developed with a clear purpose.

Envy Comfort started with a simple question from Max Birkelund:

Why should a short break mean having to leave your wheelchair?

Years of daily experience as a manual wheelchair user turned the question into a concrete idea – and eventually into Envy Comfort.

THE BEGINNING

The need existed. The solution didn't.

After decades as a wheelchair user, Max knew the practical reality of long days in a manual wheelchair. Transfers to a sofa or bed for a short break gradually became more demanding – especially with the strain on the shoulders. He therefore searched for a solution that would make it possible to rest, shift position and continue the day without first having to transfer out of the wheelchair.

When he couldn’t find the solution, he decided to develop it himself.
ENGINEERING MINDSET

Experience shaped into function.

Max Birkelund, the mind behind Envy Comfort, has years of experience with vehicles, custom adaptations and product development – along with decades of personal experience as a wheelchair user.

The combination of practical engineering thinking and his own user experiences has shaped the development process: prototypes have been tested, refined and rebuilt around a very concrete everyday need.

The result is a product developed with the user in mind – with a strong focus on function, independence, comfort, and a design that fits naturally into everyday life.

The goal isn't to sit better.
It's to live better.

"Envy Comfort wasn't developed based on a theory of what wheelchair users need. It was created from a lifetime of personal experience and a need I've felt every single day."
