Envy Comfort is a relief and positioning unit for compatible manual wheelchairs. The wheelchair is backed into the unit and can then be tilted in a controlled motion, allowing the user to rest and vary their seating position without leaving their own wheelchair.

ENGINEERING

Controlled motion – tailored to the user.

The mechanism is built around the manual wheelchair – not as a replacement for it. The wheelchair is secured in place while the internal support system guides the tilting motion. Earlier product documentation describes an adjustable gas-assisted resistance, allowing the motion to be tailored to the user and kept controlled throughout the range of movement.

Envy Comfort is intended for use by healthcare professionals, care staff, caregivers, or the user themselves after instruction.

Envy Comfort is designed for use with standard active wheelchairs. The wheelchair is driven directly into the unit and securely held in place, allowing the user to change sitting position and achieve pressure relief – without having to leave their own wheelchair.

A pressure measurement conducted at the Spinal Cord Injury Centre in Viborg on a single user showed a reduced average seating surface pressure at 45° and 90° tilt compared to the starting position. As this is an initial observation on a single user, the result should be regarded as supporting documentation – not as a general clinical claim.
